What's on your mind?

Well I headed on down to the gym tonight. I was really hoping to see all the ladies but several of them were not feeling good, and Nicole had to work late tonight so she couldn't make it. But I did get to see Netanya and Marissa and I worked out together. It feels so strange though. I know all the stuff to do...but to not have the guys there feels odd. But Marissa and I did our eliptical intervals and did squats, walking lunges, chest press and diamond push ups. Then we did some crunches and leg lifts for good measure.

Today was the first official day of my spring break and I got to sleep in for it as well! NICE! :D But I got the kids up and we went shopping for a few things. I hit Peterson for some paperwork that I need to get the instate tutition rate at school and then we hit Target for a few more things.

Tomorrow, if it is as nice as they say it will be, I plan on taking the kids for a hike in the afternoon. There are some trails here on the academy that I would like to go and see. I am taking them up to get the stuff reserved for a ski trip that we are taking this weekend with my hubby's squadron as well. I won't be skiing since I am so afraid of really messing up the knee but it should be fun to get out and hit the slopes for them.

I plan on hitting the gym at Peterson tomorrow with DJ at taekwondo but I will be back at Spectrum on Wed night...so I hope to see as many of you as possible.

Until then...thinking skinny thoughts!

Well...the contest is over...but my journey is still ongoing. I know that won the contest but every single one of us are winners...we all chose to go down a path to a healthier lifestyle. I want to thank Spectrum Wellness for helping me as well. I know that with their help I will be able to reach my goal of 9 more pounds.

If you all would like to keep track of what all is going on in our lives...come check us out at www.spectrumwellness.org/biggestwinners.htm

Thanks again to Aaron, David, and Noah for all their hard work with all of us. And thanks to My 99.9 (and Rich Stevens) for giving us the opportunity to get healthy!!!

TJ,
Congratulations on winning my biggest loser. You lost 21.4 pounds, 14.04% of your body weight in just 8 weeks. Your hard work and leadership have inspired your fellow contestants and people following the show as well as your trainers!
With your new lifetime access to Spectrum Wellness' gym and your plans to continue training with us to accomplish your final goal, I invite all your friends and supporters to track your progress on SpectrumWellness.org by going to the Biggest Winners where photos and blogs will continue to be posted.
As a side note, as a group, the 9 of you lost 191.6 pounds in 8 weeks which equates to an average loss of 21.3 pounds per person and 2.66 pound average loss per week per person. All this while increasing your lean muscle mass and without taking pills. Except for TheBiggestLoser contest where people are training 6 hours per day, I can't find any other program that has the averages you all have accomplished!!!
Again Congratulations abd look forward to seeing you and your family on a regular basis. Let Aaron know when you want to put together your training group so we can have that arranged in advance.

Ok everyone...I know that I am not going to take this. It is my week to build muscle and I have actually gained weight on my scale. So...I know that it is not going to happen for me. But oh well...I know that I am a winner in my mind because I have already lost over 70 pounds so that to me makes me a huge winner!!!

18th March 2008 - 7:24am
Ok...I did not have an axe to grind this morning when I called in. I just wanted to give everyone (who cared to listen) an update on me. Like we (the ladies) have been saying all along, we just want a lady to win this thing...be it me, Netanya, Marissa or any other lady. This is just something that I would like to see. It goes back to the elementary school days when it was "girls" against "the boys". So...No axe grinding here!

Ok...now that that has been said -

Work out last night was AWESOME! I totally love walking out of there feeling like I got a great work out! And I did! I was hurting in all the right places and totally wore out. so needless to say I slept awesome!!! I will be pushing myself pretty much just like that tonight as well. And then again on Wednesday night. I am not doing anything different in my routine...why would I? The only thing different is that I am stepping up my workouts - just like everyone else. Even after this thing is all said and done I am not done. I will still have more weight to lose to reach my goal. Maybe after I reach my goal I will start in with a "cheat" meal once a week. I don't really know. I know that I can have that little piece of pizza or cake so long as it is with in reason. But for now...I won't be doing that at all!

I can't believe that this thing is almost over with. I have really enjoyed working out with all the ladies. I really hope that after this is all said and done that we can meet up at Spectrum once in a while and work out. It has really helped me working out with the ladies!

Well I best get back to work. Everyone stay focused and keep the eye on the price!~

Congrats on today! I'm happy a lady is on top!

5th March 2008 - 3:33pm
TJ,
Marissa is 100% correct. It was just a hiccup. And one thing we never preached was food depravation. Moderation is all. And when we cheat, and we all will, make up for it on the treadmill and workouts, which is what you did.
Just think about what you have accomplished. When you do that you will see that you are the biggest winner! So like Marissa said, don't beat yourself up over it.
Unfortunately, someone was generous enough to give me the crud as well, so Aaron will be the one torturing the night crew today.
Again, Marissa was right on so leave yesterday out of it, focus on what your goals are, and achieve them. Just look at what you have accomplished so far!

TJ-Oh girl...please do not beat yourself up about this!!! That's the difference between chubby girls and skinny girls. When skinny girls goof up on their diets, they say, that sucks I won't do that again. Us chubby girls spiral into this vicious cycle where we feel like we've failed so miserably there's no hope for us and we continue to fail because we feel so helpless. Let me be the first to tell you that TJ you are now officially a 'skinny girl' just look at your pic!!! So kill that chubby girl still living in your head and start thinking like the fabulous skinny girl that you are. You may feel like you failed but it was just a hiccup!! Nothing that Aaron can't work out of you this evening. I hope the chubby girl is dead and that I see you and your skinny self this evening--feeling better and way less guilty. You are amazing and if anything you inspire us girls, not let us down. I'll see you in a few hours!!!

First let me say David your kind words have now really made me feel like a HUGE loser!

Ok...I will be the first to admit on the web that I failed my diet! I had such an upset stomach today and while I was sitting there waiting for DJ to get out of school I ate about 20 honey wheat pretzel sticks. I felt so horrible afterwards. I just lost track of what I was doing and how many I ate! I truly felt like a huge loser!

So to try to make myself feel better about myself, I went to the gym. I got there about 20 minutes before DJ's taekwondo class. I jumped right onto the eliptical. I really pushed myself and did an hour on there. Then I jumped right off and moved over to the treadmill...yep you guessed it...I did the treadmill routine...30 seconds at 12 incline and 2.5 speed then up to 3.5. I did that for 5 minutes and jumped right off and did 20 leg lifts on each leg and 20 crunches. Then back to the treadmill for another 5 minutes. Then back to the floor for more leg lifts and crunches. What really sucks...is I still feel like such a huge loser!

And to make this even worse...I still fill sick to my stomach! I know that I shouldn't have done what I did but there is nothing I can do to change it. I just wish that I didn't feel this way. So...ladies I am sorry for letting you down. I really wish that I had not done this. And I wish even more that I didn't have such an upset stomach!!

TJ,
Glad you are sleeping well, at least 3 days a week :-)
You guys rocked last night. That was an extremely difficult workout that combined both circuit training and interval treadmill training. Went by quickly, didn't it. Can't tell you how much fun it is for me to train you all. Everybody's strength and endurance is improving at such an incredible rate. At this point, I really don't think that the majority of people in the Springs could hang with the intesity of the workouts that you all are currently capable of. And the wild part is that when we started, some of the contestants had never trained before. You, on the other hand, had trained, but your cardio abilities and strength have continued to improve.
As usual, awesome job. And thanks for your help with the treadmill counting.

Oh man...the work out tonight was a killer! Thanks David! I have to say that by the time I ran around and did more things for my mom and then got home and ate my after workout meal, I jumped in the shower...Oh what a great thing - HOT SHOWERS! So now I am sitting here watching tv but I am half asleep! I love working out at night. I sleep like a ROCK on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights! I have to say that despite knowing it is better for you to work out in the morning - for weight loss - I like working out at night becasue I get to sleep great!

Well I am off to hit the pillow! Have a great night all and an even better Tuesday!

TJ,
You lost another 3.8 pounds this week for a total of 13.2 pounds in 5 weeks. Healthy eating and proper exercise and of course training with the best trainers under Spectrum's medical model.
Awesome job.

You also hit a milestone this week. Since strating this competition, you have dropped from the 170's into the 150's. This after already dropping a lot of weight before entering our competition which put you at a disadvantage - theoretically - but you have proven those theorists WRONG! Your spirit and determination are an inspiration to the other contestants. Go Night Crew.

Can't wait to see what you do over the next 3 weeks.

TJ-I just checked out the site for the first time and it looks amazing! You did such a good job on it-thanks for taking the time to do it. I will write a story for ya this weekend...I know i keep putting it off but I am so sleepy right now I'm afraid what might get written down if I did it now. Thanks again for letting Megan come down tomorrow...I am so looking forward to some time off! You do so much for everyone...make sure you take some time for yourself this weekend! I'll see ya Monday girl!

Man David and Aaron kicked our butts tonight! The treadmill thing - well I guess everyone now knows that I am very big mouth! But I have to say that by doing that it made the time go by much faster for me. I know the ladies hated me everytime I told them 3.5! LOL (Love ya ladies!) I just wish the inner ear thing wasn't bothering me so much! Oh well...at least tonight I finished all of my sets - with a little help from a handle of a bike. LOL

I really enjoyed our time tonight in the pool too. Thanks David and Aaron for letting us do that! I think it helped us relax as well because man alive I am so tired now! I bet I will sleep like a rock tonight - which is good since I have been sleeping like crap this week! (too much stress with my mom!)

Well...my fellow "losers" I guess I am going to call this a night! Have a great one and I will see you all in the morning!

26th February 2008 - 1:13pm
Howdy Hi all! I have to say that last night was a crazy night for me. I do not think I have ever gotten so emotional at a workout! I just honestly think that all the stress that I am under - my mom and some other family issues - has finally taken its toll on me. I got very mad with myself for not being able to finish a set because of my emotions. I have to say though, Aaron handled it greatly! I am sure he just loved it when I had make up running down my face! (He actually thought it was dirt...but nope it was make up) So again Aaron, from the bottom of my heart...thank you!

I am going to hit the gym at Peterson AFB tonight while my son is at taekwondo. I know that it won't be as hard but I will be pushing myself to get my full 1.5 hours of cardio in. Heck I might go in and do a few moves with him to keep that heart rate up! I know that last week he was not happy with me when I made him do kicks across the gym!

Oh and George McFly...you are totally awesome! I know I said that I love ya when I meet you but what you said this morning made me tear up again! It is nice to see that other than my hubby another man is rooting for me as well!!! I know, it is your male instinct to cheer on Pete...but you saying those sweet words made my morning! I actually jumped up in the computer lab and shouted "YES"! Needless to say I had a few looks. LOL
